Dr Sarvesh Kumar Tiwari is an academic administrator with over three decades of service in educational institutions under the Government of India, having experience in both academic and administrative capacities. He holds an M.Sc. in Physics from Banaras Hindu University and a PhD in Physics, with consistent First Divisions from Class X onwards.

Presently, He is serving as Registrar, MANIT Bhopal, on deputation from IIT (BHU), Varanasi. Earlier, he served as Joint Registrar (Finance & Accounts/Administration) at IIT (BHU), Varanasi, and as Registrar at MNNIT Allahabad, on deputation from IIT (BHU), Varanasi. He also served as Deputy Registrar at MNNIT Allahabad for nearly a decade, during which he additionally served as Registrar (Officiating) for over 7 years. He began his professional career as a Physics teacher, along with administrative roles.

He possesses expertise in Finance and Accounts Management, procurement of goods, services and works, establishment and personnel administration, framing and implementation of Recruitment Rules, and institutional capacity building. He has made significant contributions at the national level as a Member of the Ministry of Education Committees that framed Recruitment Rules for non-faculty positions at NITs, SPAs, NIAMT Ranchi, and IISER Pune. He has also contributed to staff restructuring at several NITs/ other institutions. He has served on a number of Selection Committees for recruitment/other administrative committees across IITs, NITs, IIITs, IISERs, and other centrally funded institutions.

Presently, he is also a member of the Finance Committees of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, New Delhi and Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University, Raebareli. Further, he serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of Varanasi Smart City Private Limited.

In addition, he has also been selected as Registrar at IIT Bhilai (2021), IISER Mohali (2025), and the University of Kurdistan Hawler (Iraq) (2015).
