About the Department
The Department of Biological Science & Engineering is a relatively new department of the institute that started in July 2012. It offers M . Tech in Biotechnology and Ph. D program. The department has 04 highly qualified and dedicated faculty who strive to produce competent professionals.
The faculty members have been delivering expert lectures in various research and academic organizations of India and abroad. The department faculty have extramural as well as intramural research projects from various government funding agency i.e ICAR, CSIR, DST-SERB, MP Biotech Council and MPCST Bhopal.
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the programme M.Tech. in Biotechnology address wide aspects of Biotechnology in line with the Department’s vision and mission. These are:

To produce globally capable graduates in the domain of biotechnology with knowledge in the areas of genetic engineering, bioinformatics, genomics, and proteomics along with problem-solving skills for success in professional careers in industry and academia. |
PEO 2 |
To establish state-of-the-art infrastructure for genomic and proteomic analyses, with the explicit goal of improving public health, agriculture, and industry for the betterment of sustainable development. |
PEO 3 |
To seed research, education, translation, and service networks among clinicians and researchers from different disciplines for the promotion of better public health through the establishment of genomics infrastructure in hospitals and medical colleges. |
PEO 4 |
To anchor young talent on the national soil and build capacity on Genomics and Proteomics through specialized postgraduate programs and organizing various training programs for postgraduate and Ph.D. students in Biotechnology |
