MANIT Bhopal takes preventive measures amid Corona threat

In view of the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases in the country and the advisory issued by MHRD, MANIT Bhopal has taken precautionary measures to reduce the transmission risk by suspending all the classes and examinations till 31st march 2020. It directed all the students to vacate their hostels by March 17 and return to their homes for safety from coronavirus. These students were advised not to visit the campus during the period. However, the NRI students were allowed to stay in the campus with special permission from hostel wardens. The conferences, workshops, FDPs and short-term courses scheduled to be conducted during the period were also suspended. The mess facility, sports, Gym, and library were also closed. The faculty members were also asked to avail of the vacation period.

Meanwhile, MANIT administration has carried out sanitation and cleanliness activities in the hostels, departments and other premises of the institute campus. A special emphasis was given on the disinfection activity in the hostels. The entrance gates were equipped with alcohol-based sanitizer with detailed instructions on how to wash hands. Posters on Dos and Don’ts and suggestions to take safety precautions were put at the different places of the institute campus. The institute also provided guidelines to the residents on the campus which included restriction of movements outside the campus, inviting outside guests to the campus during the period, avoiding gatherings, and following health advisories as published by central and state governments.

Dr. N. S. Raghuwanshi, the director MANIT, himself is monitoring the coronavirus prevention and protection measures being taken in the institute campus in order to preclude any risks to the students, faculty members as well as the residents of the institute.
